Program Read was
founded in 1987.

Program Read serves adults with literacy needs in Sault Ste. Marie.

Program Read is a community-based agency incorporated as a non-profit organization. It is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors elected from the community.

Program Read receives core funding from the Ontario Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities/ Employment Ontario. We also receive donations and are very grateful for these contributions.

Program Read is a member of:

• Community Literacy of Ontario
• Ontario Literacy Coalition
• Mid North Network for the Coordination and Development of Adult Learning

Program Read also partners with the other Literacy and Basic Skills agencies on the Literacy Service Planning committee for Sault Ste. Marie.
